8 steps to a history Fair Project

We have finished the Chapter on India and are moving to China. This will be a short Chapter, so we may move on the Greece and Rome.
Information nuggets

Still working on the fig Tree and Christ and the fig tree and Buddha.

1. Chose a Topic to go with the Theme " The Individual in History: Actions and Legacies"

2. Outline the questions you want to answer in the project
3. Research/note cards( primary source- first hand, secondary source-second hand)
4. Decide Project ( Research paper,exhibit,website,play,documentary) www.NHD.org
5. Design the project
6. Put the project together
7.Research paper (1,500- 2,500 words) also see handout "research parer general rules"/Process paper answers the four questions
a.Explain how you chose your topic
b.Explain how you conducted your research
c. Explain how you selected your presentation category and created your project
d.Explain how your project relates to the Theme: The Individual in History: Actions and Legacies
8. Put paper together
a. title page
b. content (1,500-2,500 wds- Research paper or 500 or less words process paper)
c. bibliography ( MLA style) see citation machine.com
d. annotated bibliography ( the same as above with a sentence telling how each source was used.)

After your child brings this project to school on Feb 3, have a personal celebration!! You have survived History Fair and Science Fair

We have really gone over these elements in class and I didn't assign this project last night. I also know the dog/baby brother/ baby sister didn't eat the project and mom/dad didn't refuse to buy: paper, backboard,etc, or refuse to let the child go to the library or go on the Internet. The computer was broken, the printer was out of ink and/or refusing to print and my parents refused to fix,buy or help this situation isn't true. I love sixth graders and all of their excuses. You will survive this project and middle school.

****** New Progress reports have gone out from my class. The reports will look different than before. The county has a new grading program. The printouts are from this program.
The reports are divided into sections with an average and the over all average is at the top of the report.
